The wood that was used to build America. Heartwood Pine (as it was known) was used by the Americans over a century ago because it was durable and plentiful. But Heartwood Pine is very different from most other types of Pine available. Generally, Pine is a softwood, and will dent and mark very easily. Unless it is a genuine reclaimed Heartwood Pine, it is probably not going to be particularly attractive. This is really for the country home look or period property.
