Canadian Maple, the most well known of the maple family, is a heavy hard and tough wood, light in colour, with a pretty grain pattern used quite extensively for musical instruments, furniture and flooring. It is extremely hard wearing, making it especially suitable for sports floors and bowling alleys. You need to remember that this wood will not keep its light tones for long, and will take on a honey colour after a couple of years.
